Wedding Stories

Everyone has one…

What was your wedding like?  For years I heard my parents tell the story of their wedding day.  Typical March day in Buffalo, NY.  According to them they had every type of weather possible that day.  The sun was shining in the morning and it was warm.  Later it rained and by evening would you believe it snowed?  Yes, quite a bit I’m told.    Apparently, they could weather through that day and still weather through it 38 years later.

Staying married in these modern times appears to be a challenge.  Well, guess what?  If marriage was so easy everyone would be doing it.  Marriage is a commitment that should not be taken lightly.  There are ups and downs.  Disagreements that seem to never go away.  The first thing my Mother – in – law told me, “The first few years are very difficult.”  She was right.

I’ve been married 13 years and have weathered many storms.  I believe the secret is “Commitment”.  You have to want it.  You have to want it to work.  The motto my husband and I have is “divorce is not an option”.  There is something to say about the old saying, “Never go to sleep angry”.

Just like anything in life.  If you want it bad enough, you can make it happen.  You can only get out of it, what you are willing to give.
